--DE Shaun Ellis received a $10,000 fine from the league for throwing a huge snowball into the stands in Seattle after Sunday's game. Ellis had said he was having fun with fans who were throwing snowballs at the Jets, and that he meant no harm.

--DB James Ihedigbo, a special teams player, was a healthy scratch after committing two holding penalties on kickoff returns in the previous two games. A message obviously was sent to him for his mistakes.

--LB Vernon Gholston, who was a healthy scratch for the first time this season in Week 15, returned. However, he played sparingly on defense and had no impact. It's possible that Eric Mangini simply didn't want to again answer the questions caused by the deactivation of the sixth overall pick.

--WR Chansi Stuckey was a surprise inactive because of the return of WR Brad Smith (concussion). Smith had no impact, with two receptions for 3 yards.

--K Jay Feely connected on his lone field-goal attempt, from 20 yards, and has made 13 consecutive field goals. However, coach Eric Mangini chose not to have Feely attempt a field goal from 50 yards after his 45-yarder was wiped out by a delay-of-game call.

--RB/KR Leon Washington had a quiet day, with 14 yards on three carries, and no receptions. On special teams, he had one punt return for 4 yards and averaged 17.8 yards on four kickoff returns.

REPORT CARD VS. SEAHAWKS

PASSING OFFENSE: F -- Brett Favre had his second-worst passer rating of the season, 48.7. He averaged merely 6 yards per pass attempt and was sacked four times. He threw two interceptions, including one sideline pattern off his back foot, against the grain and into double coverage on Jerricho Cotchery. Yikes. Cotchery did have a 30-yard reception among his six catches.

RUSHING OFFENSE: B-plus -- Thomas Jones had 67 yards on 17 carries, but he had only seven attempts in the second half when the Jets were playing catch-up. But his longest gain was a mere 7 yards, marking the first time since the win over Cincinnati on Oct. 12 that he didn't have a run that covered double figures in yardage. FB Tony Richardson chipped in 34 yards on five carries.

PASS DEFENSE: C-minus -- No, backup Seneca Wallace didn't pass for a lot of yards (only 175), but he was quite efficient. He had a passer rating of 104.6 and wasn't sacked once, and even when the Jets sent blitzers, they seemed a little too tentative, allowing Wallace to take his time. CB Dwight Lowery forced a fumble from TE Will Heller that was recovered by teammate Darrelle Revis, and Lowery also forced a lost fumble in Seattle's running game.

RUSH DEFENSE: D -- Where has the seemingly impregnable run defense gone? Maurice Morris skittered over the snow-covered field for 116 yards on 29 carries, and he helped the Seahawks maintain a seven-minute edge in time of possession in the second half. Worse yet, a seemingly good play, Calvin Pace's tackle of Morris for a 2-yard loss, turned into a bad one when Pace was flagged for a facemask penalty.

SPECIAL TEAMS: C-minus -- Reggie Hodges averaged only 34.5 net yards on six punts, but he did put three inside the Seattle 20. The Jets didn't give up any big returns, but they didn't generate any either, as Leon Washington averaged only 17.8 yards on four kickoff returns. Jay Feely extended his streak of consecutive made field goals to 13 with a 20-yarder, but his 45-yarder didn't count because of delay of game on the Jets.

COACHING: C-minus -- Eric Mangini's call not to have Feely try a 50-yarder after the penalty, when Feely had shown plenty of leg on the first kick, was highly questionable. He also is taking heat for not going for it on fourth down and about a half-yard from the Seattle 2 on the Jets' first drive, although scoring first in bad conditions is a sound strategy. The defense finally blitzed more often but couldn't get to Wallace, while Jones didn't get enough carries on offense.
