The Eagles are 81/2-point underdogs for Sunday's rematch with the New York Giants at the Meadowlands.
The Eagles were favored by three points against the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field on Nov. 9, but New York won, 36-31. Much has changed for the two teams since then.
"The Giants have been running over teams," said senior oddsmaker Dan O'Brien of Las Vegas Sports Consultants. "I can't remember the last time they didn't cover."
It was Oct. 13, when New York lost to the Cleveland Browns, 35-14. The 11-1 Giants have won (and covered the spread in) every game since.
Now, the Las Vegas oddsmakers are trying to make it a bit tougher on the bettors with a wider line of 81/2.
"The Eagles are a mediocre team, and the Giants, right now, are the best team in Football," O'Brien said.
In yesterday's games, losses by favored New England and San Diego meant a good day for the sports books. O'Brien said that more people decided to put money on the Chargers' covering the spread against Atlanta as the week went on, which ended well for the books.
The New York Jets' loss to Denver also was good news for oddsmakers.
